Katelyn is currently battling for her life in Allegheny General Hospital’s Neuro ICU after an extensive brain surgery to debulk 2 very large tumors to prevent her brain from herniating. She was diagnosed 18 years ago and has a very severe case. Around 2009 she became deaf, and in Jan 2018 she went completely blind. We would communicate with her by writing letters on her hand. She has been a fighter ever since she was diagnosed. Whether it was relearning how to walk after strokes, being reoriented after seizures, being poked and prodded for testing and chemo, she always has done everything she could for herself and pushed on through. Even after becoming blind and deaf, she still took care of herself until the pain in her head and neck became too much. She is a true inspiration of fight and independence. We are hoping she has fight in her to over come the residuals from this extensive surgery and still have some time with us! Please think of her and send prayers and good juju! #endnf #katesfight #cononicostrong
