Carter is 3 years old and was diagnosed with NF Type 1 at 4 months old. He resides in Western New York with his family who, has an extensive history of NF affecting many of his loved ones. Carter was diagnosed with bilateral Optic Gliomas at 7 months and went through 18 1/2 months of chemotherapy at Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Today his OG’s are stable and he continues to have many specialist doctor visits and MRI’s every three months. Carter is blind in his left eye, has speech delays and fine motor delays but he is a very loving and vivacious little boy who lives life to its fullest. He may have NF but NF does not have him. He is our little hero.
