Travis (8) bravely faces the daily challenges neurofibromatosis (NF) type 1 brings into his life. While diagnosed with NF at 6 months, NF-related bone issues appeared at 1.5 years of age, and at 2.5 years of age an MRI confirmed a large, inoperable tumor that covers 50% of his body length. At 8 years old, Travis completed 23 MRIs, learned how to walk 8 times, walked with a 3+ inch leg length discrepancy, fractured his femur 3 times, endured 3 NF surgeries within 1 year, participated in 4 rounds of experimental medicine trials, held still for countless x-rays, eaten hundreds of donuts, and inspired thousands.
