Cole is my amazing, handsome, brave, inspiring, BEST EVER fiancé. He has NF2. He found out about this crazy disease in 2008 when he was 14. He had his first brain surgery soon after that, leaving him completely Deaf in his left ear. Cole was on Avastin for a few years to save his hearing. After a hearing aid and a cochlear implant, Cole had two more brain surgeries the summer of 2014 that left him completely Deaf. Knowing that he would be Deaf one day, Cole and I had the opportunity to learn sign language in college. We now communicate with each other via sign language! Cole will graduate from Wofford College in May 2016 with a business economics degree. NF2 never holds him back from doing what he wants and loves. He has had many minor surgeries to remove neurofibromas all over his body, but he just breezes through the surgeries! Cole has such a positive attitude about everything life throws at him. I am very proud to call him my NF champion and hero!
