On November 7th 2012, one week before his first birthday, Johnny fell out of the kitchen chair. He sat on my lap for a while and fell asleep.i put my baby to bed and we all turned in for the night. My husband got Johnny out of bed the next morning and we noticed something was wrong. We took him to Childrens Hospital . They did X-rays and checked him out. About an hour later the doctors came back and said that there is a spot of discoloration from something called NF. They proceeded to explain to me what it was. I was crushed. Four weeks later a genetic test confirmed our worst fears. By August of 2013 his leg still had not healed. At his checkup the next august a decision was made to amputate his leg because there was no healing. The amputation took place on December 11th 2014. He is currently healing and is due to have the cast removed on 1-14-15. Thank God we have not had any signs of tumors and I pray that we don’t. My little man is so strong and independent. He is our hero!
