Arden was at her 3 month check up when her pediatrician found her café au lait spots. They seemed to multiply there in the office. After many tests, and days at CHoP, her NF1 diagnosis was confirmed. By her first birthday, she was scheduled to undergo chemotherapy for optic nerve gliomas. THANKFULLY, for reasons unknown, the gliomas stabilized. She has low muscle tone, learning/developmental delays, and optic nerve gliomas on both eyes and chiasm. She sees a neuro-oncologist, a neuro-opthalmologist, and gets a yearly sedated MRI to check for new findings and make sure her gliomas are stable. She is funny and sassy and has a smile that brightens my darkest days!!! For her, and all the NF Friends we have met along the way, I will raise money and awareness until there is a CURE!!!
