Todd Garten participated in his first Cupid’s Undie Run in 2013, the first year the event took place in St. Louis. After the event, he volunteered to help put together the 2014 event. He started as a committee member and eventually was asked to become a race director for St. Louis. When he’s not promoting in his underwear, He works for Doorways, an interfaith non-profit organization that provides housing and supportive services for people affected by HIV/AIDS. Prior to joining Doorways, Todd was the International Relations Director at the Continental Singers Ministry in Ventura, California where his work exposed him to public relations and event management and gave him the opportunity to work in Kenya, India, Cambodia, Singapore and China.
Originally from Abilene, KS, he has deep commitments to social justice and endeavors that enrich the community. “I never thought I’d ever be on television in just my underwear – let alone running around downtown St. Louis – but when you understand how important the work we’re doing is, and how funds raised benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation, it makes you do whatever is needed to keep this great event going!”
