Johnny’s story begins when he was just 3wks old. I brought him to our pediatrician for three raised irritated spots, what I thought was a diaper rash that appeared on his tummy right at the belt line. We were prescribed a medicated topical cream. Well, they didn’t go away and then we noticed brown spots (Cafe au lair spots) randomly appearing all over Johnny’s body some with a single freckle on them. We brought our concerns to our pediatrician but he was passive and just kept telling us they are just simply birth marks. Well I am no doctor but I really didn’t think that birth marks just pop up more than twenty times all over your body. We were getting even more concerned not only because of the cafe ole spots but also Johnny’s speech difficulty’s, low muscle tone, trouble with his fine motor skills and he was just sick all of the time and always on antibiotics.
