Within the first few early checkups after my beautiful Angel was born we were told it was possible she had neurofibromatosis, and of course like most parents we said Neurofibro-what. Thankfully at that point birth marks were the only symptom, but as Angel got to be one she started struggling with some developmental delays- she had trouble with fine motor skills, and she also didn’t really start talking until she was two….other than a couple of words like mama ,dada, and our favorite Bob-Bob(short for Sponge Bob). When Angel was 3 thats when we started noticing her right eye not lining up, so expecting to hear from the specialist that she’ll need to wear an eye patch or at the worst corrective surgery. Instead I heard words that no parent should hear, words like optic tumors, and the worst yet- the only fix was chemotherapy. Since then Angel has had to have multiple MRIs while being sedated, but thankfully is stable. She also struggles with ADD and mild scoliosis. So proud of my little HERO!
