Arlo is currently 3 years old. He has Neurofibromatosis type 1. He is the reason I (his mother) found out that I have NF as well. I was always told my cafe au lait spots were scars. When Arlo had them too, I found out about NF and had to DEMAND a test. My test came back positive and so did his. He has not had any MRIs or external tumors yet though I keep trying to push for an MRI due to the fact he gets migraines often. He will hold his head crying and just saying “owww mommy ooooww”. He gets sore when it gets cold out too. He has trouble with his speech and I am currently working on getting him an IEP. Despite all his problems he is a happy little boy. Every morning he comes running into my bedroom yelling “MORNING MAMA”! He is my ray of sunshine who brightens my day. Even on bad pain days he is full of joy and love.
