Avery

This is Avery. She is 9 years old and in the fall of 2010 she was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (NF 1). After an MRI in 2010 we discovered that Avery has an optic glioma as well as other tumors near her spine. So far, she is symptom free. Other than her visits to the NF Clinic, the eye doctor and MRIs every year, she is mostly unaffected at this point.
We do not know what the future holds for Avery, but we pray that it will be bright – that she will be happy and healthy. Through the efforts of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, with the support of the Cupid’s Undie Run, we know it will be a future unaffected by NF due to discovery of effective treatments and one day a cure!
