My whole life I can remember always asking ” mom what are those bumps on dad?’. She would explain to me that they are “NF bumps”. And that is what I knew of NF it gave you bumps on your skin.
Flash forward 27 years to November 2012, we find out there is a tumor the size of a grape fruit on his spine. He has the choice to have it operated on with a low survival rate or wait it out and life to June. He went with the surgery.
since the operation, he has relearned the things we do with out a thought. Feed himself, stand, trying to walk.
Though the tumor has came back he has kept his head and humor up. NF may have killed some of his running goals but it has not killed his spirit.
My dad is my hero because he has not given up and won’t let NF keep him laying down.
