Bubby is a happy, high energy, five-year-old boy. He was born with NF1, Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) and Tracheomalacia. He also has the lungs of a child with Cystic Fibrosis. When Bubby was born, he was instantly rushed into the Newborn Intensive Care Unit because his left lung would not inflate. We were in the hospital for weeks with our little miracle before he was finally able to come home. From the start, Bubby was fighting for his life. Since he had EE, he was constantly dehydrating which put him back in the hospital for weeks at a time every couple of months. Finally, the doctors decided it would be best for Bubby if he had a G-Tube (a permanent feeding tube).
But his health issues didn’t stop there. Bubby has a plexi-form tumor behind his heart from the NF. It has nearly tripled in size since he was born, and could hurt him. Despite Bubby’s medical challenges, he is the happiest child I have ever met. I look up to him, and I am his older sister. Please help find a cure.
