Carter was just 6 weeks old when our journey with NF had begun. I was changing his diaper and his leg fractured. The x-rays showed he had Pseudarthrosis of the Left Tibia, a condition that can be caused by NF. After genetic testing he was diagnosed at 2 months old with NF1. We have been told that Carter has a mild form of NF and as of now hasn’t developed any tumors. For this I am very grateful but I do know that can change at anytime. We pray everyday that he stays healthy and if the worst we ever have to contend with is getting his leg to heal then I am ok with that. Carter is such a strong little boy who doesn’t let anything get in the way of what he wants. He is an amazing big brother and has taught me more then I think I will ever teach him. He has made me a much stronger parent then I ever thought I could be. He is my heart and soul!
