Chloe was diagnosed with NF at birth. She’s has numerous cafe au lait spots (birthmarks-which are a telltale sign). She has had multiple MRIs over the year and the doctors have found numerous plexiform tumors internally, none of which are posing any major threat to her right now.

The large tumor she most recently had removed covered an area from her shoulder blade, though her armpit and into the left side of her chest. She has had the tumor since she was a small girl, but no one would do anything about it, primarily because Chloe’s family didn’t have insurance (except for Medicaid). The doctor who finally performed the surgery said that if we had been able to have it removed years ago, as it should have been, it would’ve been much smaller and would have required less recovery time. We are immensely thankful that he took care of her. At one point, we thought the tumor was affecting her heart, but miraculously it wasn’t! Chloe’s battle continues, but she also continues to smile. 🙂
