Emma was diagnosed with NF1 when she was 2 months old. She is now 2 1/2 and she is fairly healthy, thankfully. She has also been diagnosed with severe scoliosis and we have been doing brace and cast treatment all year. Her curve started at 56 degrees and progressed to 87 degrees. Thankfully after three months of casting her curve is down to 46 degrees. Emma also has sheath tumors on her spinal nerves and a plexiform neurofibroma near her left kidney. She is very small in stature, but growing well for her size. She sees about 6 doctors a year just for precautions and has yearly MRIs.
