Emmersyn Adsit

Emmersyn is my 3 year old daughter. At first glance, she appears to be a typical vibrant toddler. However, when she was 17 months old, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis (NF) which causes tumors to grow along nerves throughout the body. Since her diagnosis, she has developed numerous small skin tumors, three larger deep tumors, two brain tumors, and she lives with chronic pain from her growing tumors. There is no cure for NF and no effective treatments available. We had to make a choice to either live in fear of the next MRI, in fear of the future, or help shape the future ourselves by funding NF research and ensuring a future for our daughter. Our hope is for a cure for Emmersyn, and the research being funded through the Children’s Tumor Foundation is making great strides towards a cure.
