Irene Hrisovalandou Anapliotis

Irene is a bright 8 Year old that has many struggles but doesn’t let them stop her from giving her best! Irene was born at 34 weeks do to a bacteria fluid called “Hydrops” something that almost took her life. After living in the hospital her first 2 months of her life, Irene came home healthy (at least that’s what we thought) until we spotted her first 2 Cafe Au Lait spots. Once we thought the nightmare was over, another started! Irene was diagnosed at the age 3 months. She is a spontaneous mutation. We have never heard of such a long diagnosis on either side of our family. At the end of age 2 the doctors discovered She was going blind do to “Optic Gliomas”. ASAP CHEMOTHERAPY! This was our next and hopefully the last major Journey with This nasty monster called Neurofibromatosis type 1! Also at the age of 4 Irene hit puberty, but we have that under control. Irene has some struggles in school with SPD focusing. We are on a Break hopefully forever! We want to End NF NOW!!
