My daughter JESLYN was diagnosed with NF1 at ten months of age. A brain tumor was found during a screening MRI when she was only 2 1/2. This tumor threatens to blind Jeslyn in both eyes and possibly cause many other functional issues due to its proximity to the hypothalamus. We tried monitoring the tumor but its growth was too progressive and she had to begin chemotherapy soon after her 3rd birthday.
Despite the WEEKLY doctor visits, needle sticks and toxic chemo drugs pulsing throughout her tiny body, my baby girl remains a sweet and spunky little angel. She is sure to make you laugh and feel special if you are ever in her presence. She is a fighter and we all should be too!!
