Kaity was diagnosed at 3 months of age. She has overcome several obstacles in her life that we didn’t know until later that where due to NF1. When you get she had/has bowed tibia. She would always tire easily and throw her leg out. Wasn’t severe enough for surgery. She couldn’t even swim a straight line while doing swimming lessons. She decided she wanted to be a runner. She taught herself how to keep her feet straight and does well. She is s a sophomore in high school and runs cross country and track. No matter how much pain she is in she is out there doing her best. Kaity deals with chronic pain, has several neurofibromas, misses several days of school due to pain, and dealing with social.issues with peers. She has managed to keep a 3.2 GPA, received most improved in cross country this year, does band, a senior Girl Scout, and waiting for track season to start. My NF hero rocks!!
