LenaRose Smith

LenaRose is 12 years old and was diagnosed with NF2 two and a half years ago after having some issues that were unexplained and lots of testing with no answers. Until we decided to “rule things out”, well instead we found a diagnosis. Lena has one major tumor on the base of her skull/top of her spine, and three more tumors all within her cervical spine. She also has a tumor on her left auditory nerve which has caused some hearing loss. Lena also is legally blind in her left eye. With all she endures every day, she has a smile on her face everyday. She maintains wonderful grades in school, and always keeps a positive attitude. She is this amazing soul that I am so proud to be her mommy. She was a competitive dancer, but due to flexibility and muscle issues, she has had to give it up. And while this breaks my heart, she perseveres on with a smile and makes the best of every day. She is my hero and my inspiration. Lena makes sure to do at least one fundraiser every year to donate to several different charities that we hold near and dear to our hearts. She will change this world some day, and I’m the lucky one because I get to be a part of her ride!!!
