Liam Smith is 2, He was diagnosed with NF at the age of 7 months. He has an optic glioma that finally stopped growing, but he has had multiple sedated MRIs to monitor this. Liam is also battling JMML Leukemia, a rare Leukemia associated with Neurofibromatosis. Liam was diagnosed October 14th, but he has already had 2 rounds of chemo and had a bone marrow transplant the day before Thanksgiving. Because of this, he is still in isolation at Cook Children’s Hospital. He spent almost 2 weeks in ICU for VOD and had to have a chest tube to drain his lung. He has had 3 surgeries in two months to get his port, central line and G button. He is now on steroids for graph vs hostess disease.
