Luke was 10 months old when he was diagnosed with NF1. Luke is an energetic, loving, curious and talkative child. He loves computers, Minecraft, Cub Scouts and Tae Kwon Do. But he struggles with NF. Luke also has autism (which is more prevalent in kids with NF) and last year was diagnosed with a tumor in the hypothalamus. He endures constant doctors appointments, MRIs, and surgeries to deal with the problems the tumor causes. We’re so fortunate it’s benign, which means for now Luke will not have to endure chemotherapy. But NF tumors are unpredictable, and we wait and we watch and we pray. We’re so lucky to have wonderful care from UPMC Children’s and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and now I’m asking for your help. I’ve been running marathons for 9 years, raising research funds for The Children’s Tumor Foundation in hopes of stopping Luke’s disease. Please join Team Run4Luke at the Cupid’s Undie Run and help us #EndNF.!
