Nikolas Calderon

My baby, Nikolas was born in May of 2015. He was born a healthy 8lbs 1oz. He was perfect! The day after he was born we noticed what looked like birth marks all over his little body. Dr. didn’t seem too concerned with these spots and told us not to worry about it. She then noticed more spots and referred us to a geneticist. She then tells us he has Neurofibromatosis and lets us know all the complications with NF. Our hearts drop, I begin to cry and both of us are in shock. Neither of us were prepared for this. How can this happen to our little baby? Why? How? After week of udder sadness we decided enough was enough. Our baby is going to be okay. At about 9 month Nikolas had his first of MRI’s, he has had several appointments for vision where we found out he does have astigmatism and will need glasses in the near future. He will be my little Minion, his favorite characters. Niko is my NF Champion!
