Russell was not diagnosed with NF1 until age 35 when he battled a renal artery aneurysm and lost function of a kidney. Sara’s NF1 diagnosis came first, while Russell was in the hospital. The pieces of the puzzle came together proving Russell’s life-threatening issues were NF related, and they both have it. Despite Sara’s NF, she is a happy and healthy teen. Sara attributes her health and happiness to God’s Grace and her love of DANCE ! Sara and sister, Emily use dance and art to raise NF awareness whenever possible. We created the winning tutu design in the tutu.com flower tutu contest, which inspired the Tutus for Tumors page on facebook. Sara danced in the NF Hope Concert and danced as Clara in the Nutcracker with Atlantic City Ballet. Russell developed a cancerous tumor which was removed last year. The doctors are optimistic that he will not need any further treatment. The Pavesi family adores and appreciates their extended NF family and all who support the cause!
